Hey all, Seeds is back! It’s been a while since our last post, so instead of the regular band/album/show review, we decided to take a look back at all the bands we’ve covered this summer and pick out our favorites for you. Our top ten Best of Seeds is listed bellow with our favorite tracks, so check ‘em out and have listen to our favorite jams of the summer.

10: Sphynx- These guys have a poppy, upbeat sound that is sure to get you moving. Sphynx has shades of Two Door Cinema Club and Last Dinosaurs and is a must listen if you’re into dance rock. Check out the full review!

9: Hello Evening- Smooth and relaxing, Hello Evening is exactly what you need for those lazy summer days. These guys have a sound that makes you want to curl up next to someone special and stay in bed for ages. Check out the full review!

8: Steel Trees- Welcome to the heavier side of Seeds! Here we have Steel Trees, an interesting metalcore group that has a sound set to reform the genre values. Awkward, fun, and most importantly, heavy, Steel Trees will knock you around and throw you down, and you’re gonna love it. Check out the full review!

7. The Susan Constant- These Boston boys share a soft spot in our hearts. They have a great sound that isn’t like much else out there in the indie rock genre and their album Rayonnement is damn near perfect. Their sound ranges from fun and upbeat to tear-jerking and slow, but one thing is for sure, you won’t regret listening to The Susan Constant. Check out the full review!

6: A Band of Ghosts- These guys have one of the most interesting sounds out there today. Ominous, jazzy, bluesy, even scary at times, but always entertaining, A Band of Ghosts manages to throw aside the genres and create their own unique sound. Oh and they just released their debut album, too. Check out the full review!

5: King Devil- These west coast kiddies are that grimey and gritty indie folk that the genre’s been missing. Bluesy and dirty, King Devil are a treat for any indie fan. They don’t pigeon hole themselves either, mixing up their sound with ambient, trance-like influences. Check out the full review!

4: The Ugly Club- This is a band that grows on you. The Ugly Club lures you in with a poppy single and tightens their grip with talented instrumentation and heart-wrenching ballads. These guys are more than just chords and eighth notes; they are genuinely talented musicians who write truly interesting and entertaining songs. Check out the full review!

3: The Black Cadillacs- With easily one of the best singers ever featured on Seeds, The Black Cadillacs press onward with the bluesy indie folk sound made so popular by The Black Keys. The Black Cadillacs are brilliant in their own right, toeing a line between southern rock and indie folk, and are a must listen. Check out the full review!

2: Warning Birds- Oh and here come the heavy weights. Warning Birds is a band that you should not only look out for, but should get to listening straight away. Already picking up steam in their native Australia, Warning Birds have one of the best sounds out there in the indie rock genre. If only they had an album out! Give their hit single a listen in the meantime; you’ve been warned. Check out the full review!

1: The Artifacts- The fact that they are the number one read review on Seeds should tell you just how good these guys are. They spectacular, they are stunning, in fact I run out of superlatives for them. Their indie rock sound jumps from poppy, to ambient, to prog, and everything in between. If you haven’t listened to The Artifacts, stop wasting your time and get on it. Check out the full review!

Seeds's veteran of press, Dave has covered music, culture, and news for a variety of publications. He has a genre-defying editorial perspective, covering everything from J-Pop to Norwegian Death Metal.
