New Indie Music: Warning Birds

New indie band Warning BirdsWhat do I know about Australia? Well other than it wants to kill me and every human being ever, not much. Well that’s not exactly true; Australia is also pumping out some pretty killer bands. Some of them have left me more than impressed. Warning Birds is certainly one of these bands.

I’ll be honest; I’ve fallen in love with this band. Warning Birds are everything a new indie band should be: catchy, energetic, inviting, fun, and passionate. Imagine mixing Coldplay and The Strokes and you might have an idea of Warning Birds, but they are so much more than their influences. Their songs range from catchy and poppy to emotional and even epic. It’s easy to fall for this band when after only one song you’re hooked.

Warning Birds are brand spanking new and only have a few singles out. They are currently working on their debut album, expected to come out sometime this year. To get you all as excited as I am for this new album, try out the song that made them famous overnight in their native Australia: Sally.
