New Indie Music: The Artifacts

Indie bands today seem to be a dime a dozen. Let’s be honest, it’s what’s in, everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon, but every once in a while you hear a band that is really passionate about the music they play and aren’t just jumping on that bandwagon. Well The Artifacts are that band and a half. These guys don’t sound like anything else out there, and honestly they sound incredible.

The Artifacts take bluesy rock, indie pop, and funk and mix them to make a cocktail that will go down smooth and lift your spirits. I’m even tempted to say they throw in some prog rock too, because some of the drum parts are so beautifully complex. Safe to say, The Artifacts are the real deal. They have warm vocals, catchy guitar, and pumping drums. I really can’t say enough about this new indie rock band, they truly are amazing.

The Artifacts just released their self-titled debut album this past May. I literally downloaded it the second I finished listening to the first three tracks. Check out their single from that album, “Be Someone”. This album is available on a “pay what you want” basis, so give something because these guys deserve it.
