New Folk Music: Second Lovers

I’m going to be honest, when I hear most bands today that claim they play folk music, I have a hard time believing them. Most of the time modern folk bands just sound like acoustic singer/songwriters than anything else, falling closer to acoustic rock than folk. Second Lovers is not one of those bands.

Second Lovers sound like a folk band is supposed to sound like (in my humble opinion). They have the warm, inviting vocals and guitar chops that a new folk band is supposed to have. They also, as an added bonus, have a country influence that blends perfectly with their folky sound.

Second Lovers have two singles out, “Daydreamer” and “Take You Home”, and are currently working on their debut album now. Check out Second Lovers and their single “Daydreamer”.
