New Music: BAKER

BAKER is here and he’s taking the pop world by storm. But don’t let his name fool you because like he says, “I’m not making fucking pastries.” What he is making is some of the most interesting and unique pop music that we’ve heard in a while. A New York City native, BAKER comes from a family with a rich history in the fashion world, and that plays a huge part of who he is as an artist. He’ just as much a visual artist as he is a sonic one, and that’s probably my favorite thing about him. When it come to fashion specifically, he says that “The fashion choices I make have always been connected to the music so I think it’s fun, eclectic and, hopefully, it fits you.” Having just recently finished 3 shows at SXSW, BAKER is now in the studio working on some brand new, better, and according to him even bigger material. “It’s big. I’ve been working with people from RedOne and The Writing Camp so I’ve been learning a lot. The beats are bigger and the choruses catchier i can’t wait to share them!” Needless to say, all of us over at hypetree can’t wait for this new music, but until then, we’ll keep rocking out to “Echo”, definitely the standout BAKER track.
