New Music: The WonderMics

“Across the dark and silent depths of space comes a new hope for the future. Bringing universal hip hop to the planet earth, they are known only as The WonderMics.”

Launching out of Brighton, Mass., The WonderMics are here to break down musical boundaries and promote good times.  In the legacy of 90′s rap groups like The Pharcyde and The Black Eyed Peas*, The WonderMics make down-to-earth, socially-minded music within a well-executed fusion of rock & roll, soul, funkadelic flair and hip-hop flavor.  Their songs are punctuated by short dialogues, kind of like Weezer’s “The Sweater Song,” but at a much, much better party.

The band is currently promoting the release of The WonderMics EP.  Those of you in the Boston area can catch lyricist Tres Myers (AKA Tres Quill’s) at Brighton Beer Garden every Wednesday night for his residency showcase, “Hump Night.”

*Did you know that this used to be The B.E.P.?  What happened?  Oh right, money.
Love The WonderMics?  Check out this post we did on another band you might like called iLLPHONiCS.
